FUN FACTS; WHY BABIES ARE PLACED UNDER BILI LIGHT AFTER BIRTH;

Yellowing of the skin and eyes is a sign of liver problem. The medical term for yellowing of the skin is called Jaundice. Newborn usually have immature liver, thus their liver is not able to breakdown hemoglobin or red blood cell which leads to buildup of bilirubin in the blood. Yellowing of skin and eyes occurs when there is too much bilirubin in our body.  Newborns and babies with suspected Jaundice are placed under light to help them break down bilirubin. Bilirubin is susceptible to photo-oxidation by artificial light or sunlight.

DOVE APOLOGIES FOR THEIR RACIST AND INSENSITIVE AD ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE

The company faced a lot of backlash after posting a photo of a black woman turning herself white. People found the soap ad as being racist and insensitive, women of color are proud of their skin and who they are and what they represent. The company apologized through their Facebook account and wrote:   "An image we recently posted on Facebook missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. We deeply regret the offense it caused". They also wrote this on their wall.  " Dove is committed to representing the beauty of diversity. In an image we posted this week, we missed the mark in thoughtfully representing women of color and we deeply regret the offense that it has caused. The feedback that has been shared is important to us and we’ll use it to guide us in the future".  The picture of the Ad that caused the outrage below;
