VISTA FIRE. EVACUATION AND HIGHWAY CLOSED..

A 150 acre brush fire that started near Highway 33 in west Ventura prompted the evacuation of an area school and the closure of Highway 33 in both directions, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. The blaze is located at Highway 33 and North Ventura Avenue, and is currently moving uphill with wind gusts affecting the flames. High power lines are also in path of the fire, the Department added. The highway is closed from Casitas Vista Road to Sulphur Mountain Road, authorities said. The blaze is a  potential threat to the town of Casitas Pass. The school evacuated was Teen Challenge at 6790 N. Ventura Ave. Authorities are urging all drivers to use alternate routes in and out of Ojai Valley.
